Hi, and welcome to Mr. Quinn's Class dot com. That's me in the picture. The bald one.

I am a teacher at Noble High School in North Berwick, Maine. I'm teaching sophomore algebra and geometry as well as a section of statistics this year.

24 March - 4 April

Sunday, March 30, 2008

We're well over half-way through one of the toughest stretches of the school year, and I don't know about you, but I'm still feeling pretty good about things. My classes at USM are going well, and while I have a ton on my plate as far as work goes, things seem manageable. Hopefully, the same is true for you.

The second night of conferences is wednesday. I'm having sort of a crisis of ethics right now with regards to make-up work -- frankly, I'm having a hard time convincing myself that I should put myself out in situations where I don't feel that a strong commitment was made on the part of the student the first time through. My suggestion would be that you not test me, and that you convince me that you're doing your best at all times.

I fell a little behind with the election unit this week, but I think we had a really nice time doing that, so it was worth it. Next week, Geometry is going to start looking at circles, and statistics will complete its work re: confidence intervals and correlation on the data that we collected back in October.
