we made it! another year of hard work comes to an end, and now you (and i) get to spend two months recovering! congratulations to all of my graduating seniors -- please remember to stay in touch with me and with International.
this summer, as you have heard from me and others, I will be moving to portland maine. this is a personal decision that you shouldn't worry too much about -- i've been in brooklyn for 10 years, and am looking for a change. what you should keep in mind, however, is that i'm available for recommendations, advice, and help via the old e-mail anytime.
so thanks for everything over the last three years. i've learned a lot and will miss you all tremendously. i'll be teaching in north berwick maine this fall, but i've really enjoyed teaching and getting to know all of you (even zariely) and i'll never forget you guys.

Weeks 16 & 17
Sunday, June 04, 2006
These last couple of weeks are wierd -- between all the field trips, science fairs, mock Regents (boo!) and everything else, there's no momentum to speak of. For this reason, it is more important than ever to focus and make our own energy and direction. I know it's difficult; the difference between success and failure is frequently nothing more or less interesting than keeping one's eyes on the prize when temptation exists to lose focus.
Calculus will be playing more chess -- i bought us some clocks, and the Travis-Ronald knock-down drag-out tournament currently stands at 8-7 in Ronald's favor.
