Hi, and welcome to Mr. Quinn's Class dot com. That's me in the picture. The bald one.

I am a teacher at Noble High School in North Berwick, Maine. I'm teaching sophomore algebra and geometry as well as a section of statistics this year.

Week 11

Thursday, April 20, 2006

I'm on a field trip friday, and there are only 7 classes left until the AP Calculus AB exam. As the weather gets nicer and summer gets closer, it's especially important to focus and to stay motivated. It would be a shame, having put in so much hard work over the last 9 months, to lose focus and jeopardize our chances on the AP and Math B exams.

Calculus will be reviewing, and the ppt below represents an entire week's worth of review. On monday, however, we'll be looking at three topics that we glossed over during the year to make sure that we've seen everything we need to see for the test.

Math B is also finishing up -- we're looking at some trig leftovers this week, and learning about regressing next week.

Math B Calculus
Lesson 20: Graphs of Trig Functions
Lesson 21: Area of a Triangle
Week 11 Homework
Review: Differentiability, Slope Fields
Review Part 5: Integration

Weeks 9 and 10

Monday, April 10, 2006

Baseball is here!!!! Everything is fine again!!!!

Calculus is doing nothing but review and practice these days, and with just 11 class days until the test, this is all we'll be doing for a while. The ppts below are reviews of everything up to the end of December.

Math B is covering a few of the sort of in-between topics that fall under the umbrella of 'things that have something to do with quadratics'. We're looking at maxima and minima, breaking even -- especially using the TI84 -- and the properties of roots in light of the discriminant.
