Maine. I'm teaching sophomore algebra and geometry as well as a section of statistics this year. This page is intended to be a central place for access to information that might

Week 14 Notes
Sunday, December 11, 2005
Two weeks until winter break, so this week's homework is actually a double homework due next thursday. If you're going to be away, leaving early, you need to get this done early.
Statistics will look at extrapolation on monday and then begin a project on this topic on wednesday. Calculus will continue on motion problems, turning to the relationship between position, velocity, and acceleration on wednesday. And math B will continue looking at logarithms, in particular how they can help us to solve for the value of a variable.
There are just 23 days left in the fall term. This means two things. First, if there are things you need to get done, you should get them done soon. And second, the halfway point is in sight, so stay focused, because we're doing well.

Week 13 Notes
Sunday, December 04, 2005
It's the beginning of the 3rd term, meaning that we're just 3 weeks from holiday break and just 6 weeks from the end of the fall semester. Amazing how time flies, huh?
Calculus will (again) not be learning any calculus, but working instead on a very popular sort of problem that looks at what happens to one rate when we know something about another related rate. B will see logs, which is useful and not too painful, and stats will compute correlation coefficients and lines of best fit.
It's also worth mentioning that Wednesday is my birthday. I'm just saying.
