Hi, and welcome to Mr. Quinn's Class dot com. That's me in the picture. The bald one.

I am a teacher at Noble High School in North Berwick, Maine. I'm teaching sophomore algebra and geometry as well as a section of statistics this year.

This page is intended to be a central place for access to information that might be useful to students and parents, with news, assignments, and other class-related content. Links are to the right, news is below. Enjoy!

Class Notes, Week of 28 March

Monday, March 28, 2005

Hi. I missed school on thursday, with a sinus thingy. I was thrilled to come in and find that in my absence, stats classes had made use of classtime, and almost everybody was on time with their projects.

This week is a pretty normal week in B (though I'll be taking the B classes up again, Mr. Mir having done an admirable job over the last four weeks). Stats is mostly review for our group midterm, which will take place on thursday.

Though all links are present, they won't work until I actually post the slides in question -- which, for Math B, will be the night before class.

Class Notes, Week of 21 March

Tuesday, March 22, 2005

This week is a little wierd -- B had a test on tuesday, the practice exam is below under the 21st. Wednesday there will be a review of the exam, and on thursday, we'll play Jeopardy!-brand math-related quiz game.

Stats is a bit wierd, as well -- we're revisiting our very first project. Rather than slideshows, then, I'm putting the pieces of the project below for reference. Please email with questions.

Class Notes, Week of 14 March

Monday, March 14, 2005

Statistics classes will have a test this thursday. Awwww, yeah. Also, grades will close at precisely 3:05 pm on friday, and we'll probably play some Jeopardy! then, too.

Be sure, if you have make-up work, to get it in by then -- but be aware of the tight restrictions I have placed on make-up this term, and which I made perfectly clear on 1 Feb (check yourself if you don't believe me). Five absences, and you're disqualified, any lateness in a week, and you're disqualified from make-up for that week. Basically, make-up work is extra work for me, and I really only feel like laying aside extra time to help those students that have put aside time for our classes.

Class Notes, Week of 7 March

Monday, March 07, 2005

Hi Guys! It's the first full week of spring training, and the second week of our discussion of probability. There will be a test next thursday, the 17th of March. Stay on top of things!

This week, friday in both classes was a review day, so there's no presentation, and Wednesday in stats was also a problem-solving day, so no presentation there, either.

Hey! It's pictures from the Gates. Ms. Roberts led a great trip, and we're all very grateful for getting to go.
