Wire to wire?

Friday, May 21, 2004

After 7 days, Pinky and the Brains still hold the lead. can they be unseated? can the grandmas and jr. mafia pull themselves up? remember -- the difference between 3rd place and last place is the difference between an 86 and a 75 on the team portion of the brainicus!

sound harsh? it is, i suppose. but you control your destinies, so let's keep moving!

Day 4!!!

Monday, May 17, 2004

after day 4, Pinky and the Brains are starting to pull away, with another powerful performance today -- 2.5 of their necessary 3 questions were correct, for a 9/10 overall on the day, including full points for making me happy, persevering, and a genuinely distributed effort.

best score for the day was team 3, scoring a perfect 10 out of 10 on Hye-Young's return, and thanks to a nice contribution by Isaiah, pulling them back into contention. another good showing by roc.a.fella keeps them hanging on to second place. nice!

bringing up the rear are jr. mafia and the grandmas. tomorrow: math jeopardy, or something like this. i'm sort of making it up as i go along. time to step it up!

Go Yankess! I mean -- wait -- forget that. Go students!

Thursday, May 13, 2004

Believe it! Team 3 still has no name, and they still have a slim lead, so while they stink along one axis of measurement, they're awesome along another.

i've got pictures of all the teams, and they'll all be up later tonight or tomorrow -- after all, these accomplishments are even more impressive when you realize how funny-looking most of these poor kids are.

that's right. i said 'funny-looking'.

in other news, in case your friends and families want to give these things a look, i've started posting the day's questions on the standings page, in a menu on the right. show people, because what you're doing is awesome, and they should know it.

Day 1, Team 3 Out to Small Early Lead

Wednesday, May 12, 2004

No one got the problem about the McNuggets, and some people had a real problem believing that there even is an upper limit to the set of numbers you can't make. we'll discuss tomorrow. until then, get some sleep, check the scores, and eat your wheaties.
